Did You Know?

recyclingsymbolgreentn.gifDid you know that Puerto Jimenez has a Recycling Center located at the PJ High School? Through various fund-raising projects of Women of the Osa, and the administrative help of RANA (Rescatamos el Ambiente Natural Ahora), the Centro de Acopio was built and opened in December, 2006, to support the community in recycling Plastic, Glass, and Aluminum, and helping to reduce the amount of solid waste that is destined for the Osa's dump.

The high school is located about 3 blocks from the Bomba Osa gas station in Puerto Jimenez. If you turn at the Mango Real, and head South for 4 blocks, you will run right into it. Recycling is both an environmental and a developmental issue. It is a SUSTAINABILITY issue!
